 Reflections!



    After researching and analyzing my information on captive and wild animals, I have concluded that the emotional and intellectual behaviors of wild and captive elephants are common and easy to educate on. I learned the social, emotional, and physical structures of elephants as a whole. Furthermore, I have discovered that captive elephants are more isolated and are limited more often than wild elephants. The nurture that goes into these captive elephants can not compare to the nature of who they truly are. With this information, I hope to educate my fellow students and teachers on the significance of elephants and how we can distinguish them. I also hope this information opens their minds to the reality of captive elephants and animals in general, as it is a topic that is not talked about enough!

I decided to research their origin, relationships, and the type of environment that suits them best.   What I've Discovered so far: Captivity      Through research, I have found more information on elephants! Specifically looking at captive elephants, I discovered an in-depth view of their lifespan, socialization, and "freedom from abuse". I found this information through articles and websites that give insight into the effects of captive elephants. Life-Span      It is found that healthy elephants live for as long as 70 years! I find this fascinating, as elephants are known to suffer from chronic illnesses such as tuberculosis and Elephant endotheliotropic herpesviruses (EEHV). As I continued to research the specifics of captive elephants, I found that captive elephants in environments such as zoos have a decreased life expectancy. Elephants, like any other wild animal, are meant to be in large open ground: the wild.
